Baptism in the parish of Farlington

Baptisms take place on the second Sunday of the month at a 3pm service and we alternate the service between our two church buildings. Baptism is a welcoming of new members in to the Christian faith, often as small children, where their parents and godparents will speak for them and make vows on their behalf. However we also baptise adults and older children too, in these cases they can make their vows on their own. Baptisms are happy occasions where there is a real sense of meeting God in an atmosphere of celebration. Generally there are several families gathered together, and we baptise more than one candidate at the service. Our parish has a 'baptism team' who run a preparation evening prior to the service at which initial questions are dealt with and informal discussion is held.
If you are interested in having a baptism with us, there are some documents to download that will give you more information, but it is always best to call and speak to the Rector to check availability as we are usually booked up several months in advance.
