Choosing, planning and going to a Christening? . . . look HERE
Christening, sometimes called Baptism, is one of the most joyful moments in the life of our church family. We usually celebrate this sacrament on the second Sunday of each month, during a midday service, held in one of our two church buildings. When it feels right for a family, a Christening can also be woven into one of our regular Sunday services, allowing the whole congregation to share in the welcome.
At its heart, Christening is a moment when we welcome a new member into the Christian family and pray for God’s blessing on their journey of faith. Many who come for Christening are small children, and so parents and godparents speak on their behalf, promising to nurture them in love and to help them grow in the knowledge of Christ. Whether the candidate is a child or an adult, the service is filled with thanksgiving, hope, and the quiet sense of God’s presence.
Before the day of the service, we invite families to a preparation evening. This is a gentle, informal time to explore what baptism means and ask questions. It’s an opportunity to reflect, to feel at ease, and to begin the journey with confidence and joy.

If you are interested in having a Christening with us, there are some documents to download that will give you more information, but do remember that while we do our best to accommodate your preferred date we can be booked up several months in advance.
