So what positive activity has there been so far?
The Eco Team
We have a team headed up by Miriam Sampson which has been working very hard behind the scenes looking at the survey, and completing various pieces of work. The Eco team has also played an active part in the Portsmouth Diocese Eco Group headed up by Rachel Houlberg and the Portsmouth Ecumenical Climate Change Action Group.

- The Eco team is working closely with the PCC and the fabric committee team to make our buildings more energy efficient and eco-friendly.
- We have created a downloadable leaflet ‘Recycling in and around Farlington parish’ which shows what can be recycled and where (including in our donations to the local school for its project). Download the leaflet here or pick up a printed copy in church.

- Bird feeders have been installed in St Andrew’s churchyard, and bird boxes have been sited in the most appropriate locations in the grounds of Church of the Resurrection.
- The lights in St. Andrew’s church are now nearly all LED bulbs, with the remainder to be changed when they burn out. The position is more complicated at the Church of the Resurrection, but the uplighters all have LED bulbs now.
- The fluorescent tube lighting in the choir vestry has been replaced with LED equivalents and reflective foil has been placed behind the radiators on the outside walls of the church.
We have a dedicated Eco-church board at the back of the Church of the Resurrection which is frequently updated with the latest information on environmental and global issues with suggestions for local activity.
